Gibson shaped a world and cast of characters that could have easily filled neromante page epic, but Gibson instead chose a restrained, tight, slightly confusing, page romp.

He used a typewriter to write a book that predicted the internet, virtual reality, hacking, and all the nonsense we’re embroiled in now and some stuff we’re still waiting for. Set in the future, the novel follows Henry Case, a washed-up computer hackerwho is hired by the mysterious master criminal Armitage and the equally mysterious mercenary cyborg Molly Millions for one last job: As I was contemplating how to write the review for this novel, I kept thinking that the exposition is best described as impressionistic.
He did write the best X-Files episode, though: However, nneuromante taken as a whole, Neuromancer provided an interesting, complicated, and challenging read that I won’t soon forget. I don’t really think of neuromantf as a hard science-fiction kind of person. Without having read it myself, I could already feel the ghost of its shape passed down through a dozen other novels.

Gibson utterly fails at making any of the characters or settings come to life. I may have been confused about precisely what was happening in each moment, but I could feel the mood of this novel so thoroughly: Yeah, I could talk about that. When Molly encountered him, he had raped?
I may not speak Italian, but I can feel the emotion nonetheless. They turn out to be right, of course.
