This is heavy going stuff but the author knows what he is talking about and if you can wade through the drab, dull writing style and understand the various ins-and-outs of the feudal order then you may find this interesting.
Standard textbook treatment but solid research. My old edition is decorated with line drawings from manuscripts of knights, homage and castles, while not strictly necessary is a counterweight to the austerity of the subject.
