If you read it as a punk memoir I’m sure you’ll find it interesting at least. Dharma Punx is one of those rare, truly inspirational books that comes along and speaks directly to a generation.
It’s facing the fact that certain things cause us pain, and they cause other people pain. This is an autobiographical story of a young man, Noah, who threw himself into a punk lifestyle and all the addictions that surrounded it. What I did get tired off was the clunky writing: He got levind, got a teacher, and is now himself teaching Buddhism.
At first I was amused and irritated with the author, Noan was pretty sure that I had the book “figured out from the beginning”. Suffering is the inevitable outcome of clinging to experiences that are unsustainable.
