With plenty of emotional drama tied into it, whether it be Kathy’s own personal struggles or those of the people she is conducting research on gives this book a sense of intimacy that is lacking in normal ethnography’s which only aim to present facts of the research in a boring manner that leaves the reader disliking anthropological studies.
