So I expected everything to come together cleanly in Monsters. I did feel that this high-adrenalin stuff petered out towards the middle of the book, but we were still left following the different characters, and hoping that somehow they would find their way back to each other.
The ending of the book was ambiguous and left many unanswered questions – Who was behind the EMP’s?

I j.ibck bad for Peter, but I disliked him from the beginning so it was hard to care for him after my first impression of him. The author does include a list of characters and where they are and what happened to them after book two, Shadows, at the end of the book.
There isn’t really any meaningful resolution at the end to make the struggle ila it. It’s overkill and sucks all the tension and excitement out of the moment.
Re-reading my reviews for each book didn’t help either, since I try to refrain from spoilers in my reviews.
Even the bad guys in these books show that they have glimpses of humanity. For some reason, a handful of kids didn’t turn – which included three that met within a national par When Ashes first came out, I was a little slow to pay attention.
You can visit her online at www. Bick does wrap up her trilogy well though. I even went to the author’s website to read the little cliff notes on book 2, but still – I was utterly lost on so many characters.
But this one was impossible! Aug 14, Corinna rated it really liked it. She happens to think her awesome readers current company included are purdy smart cookies. Monsters was just too long. That’s a i,sa I now know. But Monsters was needlessly long.
