Or I happened upon this after reading through David Chapman’s hypertext book “Meaningness” and checking out his other blog posts where he talks about tantra. Lama Yeshe presents tantra as a practice leading to joy and self-discovery, with a vision of reality that is simple, clear, and extremely relevant to 21st-century life.
I’m fine with playing along with different ways of thinking and finding meaning, but I’m not fine with obvious, outright BS.

Who is qualified to practice it? I can’t say as I was blown away by this book.
Excellent description of Tibetan Buddhist Tantra; the transformation of desire and pleasures into transcendental experiences of deep penetrative awareness; this is absolutely amazing!
I was also very impressed with how Lama Yeshe brought modern issues into the way he introduced tantra. But sometimes if you can be aware introducction how an attachment to something actually takes away from the enjoyment of it, for example habitually eating something sweet when it’s not needed and watching the comedown from that half an hour later, it can be amazing.

Lama Yeshe is one introvuction the clearest and most generous of buddhist authors and I cannot be more grateful to read his books.
About Lama Thubten Yeshe. So it’s hard to buy some of the claims they make, especially when they’re alongside statements like “this one person cured their cancer by changing their thinking! Yesh edition of this perennial classic.
I definitely feel that I now have a better understanding of Tibetan Buddhism, and have picked up a few useful concepts and a really general patchy outline of what’s going on in tantric practices, but really would have preferred a deeper text, in fact the whole second half of the book just seemed a bit rushed.
He is funny, straightforward, humble, and full of joy. Lama Yeshe presents tantra as a practice leading to joy and self-discovery, with a vision of reality that is simple, clear, and relevant to 21st-century life. Paperbackpages.

But upon closer reading, and in his hands, these teachings proved equally valuable.
Granted, some of his technical Tabtra seemed to me, at first, of limited relevance to my interests. He’s up there with the Dalai Lama.

These criticisms aside, I did inyroduction reading the book, and felt many of the techniques outlined in it really are useful and do contribute to the practitioner’s experience of bliss and wisdom.
It’s basically just motivational speaking, which is not what I was looking for in a book of this title. That sounds like the sort of reasoning that tricks millions of people into pursuing “alternative modalities of healing ” instead of getting science based medical care for their medical problems.
Also, no, this has virtually nothing to say about sex. Mind blowing in the simplicity and clarity of the writing.
