The Bargue-Gerome Drawing Course is a complete reprint of a famous, late nineteenth century drawing course.
Funny about living a long time – although there’s less time left in my life, I feel more able to be patient in such endeavors. These plates are supposed to be taped up onto a drawing board with the copies done beside them, the same size, the better to judge the accuracy of the copies. I have just started using this course after drawing and painting most of my life, and feel that it will be very beneficial. The images, the research, just wow. The course was designed to build upon itself, and take about a year for each part.

Lessons in Classical Drawing: The Bargue book is a series of plates which are to be copied, with some brief instructions on how to do so. Only a purist who really wants to learn how to draw very well could appreciate this book.
