This tale is a very non politically correct sort of farce. I’ve just found out there’s a sequel: Also too much toilet humour? The writing is fine, good even, but the story is thin and meandering. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Heck, he even writes the narrative in British colloquialism so if you’re American, you may have no idea what’s going dickison in the pages or so of boatrce fantastically terrible novel.

One of the funniest books that I’ve read. Jun 19, Amy rated it it was ok Shelves: Mark Fergusson rated advetnures really liked it Jul 10, It’s a shame this isn’t better because Bruce I feel like we’re on first name terms since I have all his albums is obviously a talented writer, reminiscent of Spike Milligan in parts, but why he chose to go down this road of Carry On style humour crossed with Wodehouse is a mystery.
It has very unsympathetic female characters and also very unsympathetic male characters. Dickinson has a very competent style and if you come across a copy you probably will not be disappointed. My younger self would have rated this book four stars, so I’ll need to do a reread sometime, to see if my older self agrees; if not, I’ll Whoa
