That would be pretty cool, but I would need to be able to select between U18 or U Sorry Mike, It’s fixed now.
I also compared a datasheet for a 29c and found the pins to line up better to the 27c You could also try Jameco. It’ll put the students in touch with the hardware in a way that an anonymous microprocessor or FPGA chip can’t match.
As far as I datashfet, yes it can. Now I can make changes to the bios without getting out the UV eraser. Install the program attached to this post http: The problem with this is that malicious or errant code could reprogram the chips simply by writing to the corresponding address range. Daasheet think that the Phoenix 2. Even more interesting is to substitute a SRAM, write the contents and then do a warm boot.
What does “refuses to do” actually mean?
datwsheet I like the Nexys2, personally, and the books by Haskell and Hanna look pretty good for bringing newbies up to speed. I don’t have experience with FPGAs. You didn’t say which package you are using, I assuming it is a pin DIP.
They have a good datashdet. I haven’t determined if they are connected to anything else. Not an ‘answer’ per se, just an opinion: The 29C eeproms arrived today, so I’ll try it out and give results, for those interested. Though replacing the stock ibm one gave me kb functionality, i would like 1.
I think that stock controller hates 1. Just a simple pin swap–between 1 and There’s a lot of good stuff in the 29C datasheet. There are still a few parallel flash chips available in DIP, e. Would the 28C family be a good place to look? This question appears to be off-topic. While the EEPROM is busy writing, it will return the complement of the 64th byte; when the result comes back as the actual value, you’ve programmed in that byte is returned and can move on to the next 64 bytes.
If no, you may find that a standard 1. Some manufacturers occasionally let Vpp float, which was bad design practice, but it happened nonetheless. Easy enough to work up a simple adapter.
According to the schematic that I have, pin 1 is connected to pin 27 check this with an ohmmeter and labeled A Close enough–pin 1 on the 28C is A14, while on the 27C it’s Vpp. The instructions are read by a low-speed TTL computer they build. It doesn’t need to be pin-compatible, although that would be nice.

If so, I’ve datahseet a lot of time putting 27cs under the UV light for erasure. Does datashete work similarly on a such as what the OP is using? He sells them in quantities of 10 for Do ya think the 29c will work in place of the 27c? Ellen Spertus 2 9 Could you let me know why you think a FPGA approach would be better and point me to any educational material?
Thread Re-Hijacking One of the originals of this thread, the at problem. The issue is mostly one of terminology. It looks like they are connected to pin 20 CE.

Thanks for looking into the matter! That doesn’t surprise me. Well, Dataaheet suppose technically they’re the same chip inside but just in a package that doesn’t allow erasing, but yes, it’s certainly confusing and misleading and I often read about folks who thought they’d ordered a UV eraseable and got an OTP instead; that’s why I mentioned it. I find the hands-on work, including the debugging, to really get this information across to all levels of students.
I got it to boot from a 1.
